About Allonby & The Coast...

Allonby and the Solway Coast

Unlike the southern and central Lake District the Western Lake District and Solway Coast area is relatively unknown; yet this region has so much to offer. The roads are comparatively quiet and, if you crave solitude, many of them lead to the quiet sandy beaches and sandy beaches in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Pear Tree House is a fantastic three bedroom holiday cottage which sleeps up to 6 people. The house has two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom and is nestled in the centre of the quaint seaside village of Allonby.

Pear Tree House has been renovated to a high standard; however retaining some of its traditional charm with the exposed wooden beams.

This holiday cottage is a fantastic holiday cottage for families as Pear Tree Cottage also allows pets.

Less than 5 minutes walk from Pear Tree Cottage brings you to not just the sand and shingle beach with stunning vistas, but also the local pub which serves food and Twentyman's shop (famous locally for its delicious Ice Cream!).

Allonby is located between the harbour town of Maryport and Silloth, the village has a long sandy beach, with breathtaking views across the Solway Estuary to the mountains of Southern Scotland. Allonby is a great family destination with: the beach, children’s play ground and the swimming pool with spa and sauna facilities just a short walk away and the many activities and attractions offered by the local area including the ever popular seaside town of Silloth, The Lake District Coast Aquarium, The Wave Centre and The Gincase.
