Bassenthwaite

The Bassenthwaite area is the ideal location if you are looking to escape the busier central Lake District but still enjoy the immense beauty of the Lake District. The towns of Keswick and Cockermouth are each less than 15 minutes drive plus you can reach the central Lakes in a little over 30 minutes.

Poppy Cottage is an enchanting 18th Century Lake District Holiday Cottage located at the heart of the tranquil village of Bothel; just north of Bassenthwaite and Keswick.

This enchanting holiday cottage sleeps three people in one double bedroom and one single bedroom. Renovated to a modern standard, Poppy Cottage offers well equipped self catering holiday accommodation ideal for couples and small families, Poppy Cottage also welcomes pets so that all the family can enjoy the beauty of the Lake District.

Poppy Cottage also has a wonderful split level garden, complete with lawn area, picnic table and patio set. The garden is great for taking advantage of the warm summer days relaxing in the sun with a cool drink. Poppy Cottage also has a barbeque ensuring your relaxing day can last well into the evening.

Poppy Cottage is only a short walk from the local pub, and has good access to the A591 and the popular tourist towns of Keswick and Cockermouth. The cottage is also only a few minutes from Bassenthwaite Lake.

Poppy Cottage is located next door to Setrah Cottage, ideal for a two family holiday.

Ground Floor

Lounge: The cosy lounge has sofa seating, Digital TV and DVD player and log burning stove; great for a cosy evening in after a long day of walking on the fells. Wi-Fi is also available witin the cottage.
Kitchen: the fully fitted kitchen has everything which you would need, including: hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. The kitchen also has dining table with seating for four.
Bathroom: The bathroom has bath, shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin.
Laundry Room: This brick building in the garden has: washing machine, tumbles dryer and rotary clothes line.

First Floor

Double Bedroom: With double bed, bedside table, chest of drawers, wardrobe and feature fireplace.
Single Bedroom: With single bed, bedside table, chest of drawers and wardrobe.

Additional Information

Bed Linen, Towels, Electricity & Gas are included (logs for stove are not included). Cot and High Chair are available upon request (linen for the cot is not provided). Pets are welcome in Poppy Cottage.
