About the Cockermouth area...
Set at the confluence of the rivers Cocker and Derwent, Cockermouth is a quaint historic market town dating back to the medieval era. Just eight miles north-west of Keswick, Cockermouth hosts a number galleries, river walks and places of historical interest. The town was also the birth place of poet William Wordsworth. There are so many other things to do and see in Cockermouth, making it the perfect family location.
Badgers Cottage is a delightful newly renovated Lake District Holiday Cottage and is located just outside the hamlet of Isel, close to the market town of Cockermouth. This spacious open plan barn conversion property sleeps two people and is set in beautiful surroundings, with spectacular views towards Skiddaw and Binsey Fell.
Badgers Cottage is one of three holiday cottages located on a family run 'working' farm with more than 200 acres of land; the farm is a bird watchers paradise with a twelve man bird watching hide and tarn.
This cottage is fully central heated. Entrance via the front door leads into the:
Living Area: The spacious open plan living area hosts the lounge, dining area and kitchen. The fully fitted kitchen has an electric hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. This property has views from the kitchen overlooking the beautiful Cumbrian countryside towards Skiddaw. The living area also has two armchairs, digital TV with DVD player and dining table with seating for two.
Wet Room: The wet room has luxurious underfloor heating, shower, toilet and wash basin.
Bedroom: The spacious bedroom is ideal with its zip and link beds which can be either two single beds or one double bed. (Please specify you desired bed makeup at the time of booking). The bedroom also has wardrobes, bedside tables, chest of drawers and ample space for a cot (which is available upon request).
Outside: Badgers Cottage also has access to the shared BBQ and seating areas overlooking the peaceful and tranquil tarn. There is also space for car parking.
Laundry Room: This cottage has a shared laundry room (with Otters Cottage & Ospreys Cottage) which has washing and drying facilities, as well as additional freezer storage and a computer with internet access can also be used here.
Additional Information
All bed linen, towels and fuel are provided. Pets are welcome in this holiday cottage. Cot and High Chair available upon request (there is a small charge applied for these). This property is excluded from the couple discount offer.
National Accessible Scheme - Mobility Level One
Badgers Cottage has been assessed under the National Accessible Scheme, and has been awarded Mobility Level One. "Typically suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance."
