Description

Chestnut Cottage is a quaint three bedroom Georgian terrace cottage located on Kirkgate fronting onto the listed cobbles in one of the most historic areas of Cockermouth. Chestnut Cottage retains a wealth of original features such as the large open fireplace within the lounge and the traditional oak beams throughout the cottage.

This three bedroom cottage sleeps six people in two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom.

Cockermouth is a popular market town, which although dates back to medieval era the main period of growth for the town was during the Georgian period of the early eighteenth century. Chestnut Cottage is only a few minutes walk from the popular attractions of the town including the various art galleries, pubs and restaurants and other attractions, including Wordsworth House (the birthplace of poet William Wordsworth).

Cockermouth provides strong road links to some of the more popular areas of the Lake District including Keswick; which is only an 11 mile drive from Cockermouth, other popular areas such as Thirlmere and Grasmere within 30 minutes.

The cottage has parking to the front on the cobbles for one car. This cottage has a number of winding staircases, and as a result may not be suitable for some people.

Ground Floor

Entrance via the front door leads into the:
Lounge: With seating for six, traditional stone fire place with gas flame fire, TV and DVD player. From the lounge winding stairs lead to the:
Kitchen and Dining Room: The cosy kitchen and dining area has a fully fitted kitchen with electric hob and oven, washer/dryer, microwave and fridge-freezer. The dining area has large farmhouse table and seating for six.

First Floor

Master Double Bedroom: Master double bedroom with king-sized bed, built-in wardrobes and chest of drawers. The bedroom also has access to the en-suite bathroom. This bedroom also benefits from the original oak beams in the ceiling.
En-suite Bathroom: Complete with bath, toilet and wash basin.
Bathroom: Complete with shower, toilet, wash basin and velux roof window.

Second Floor

Twin Bedroom: With two single beds, wardrobes, chest of drawers, original oak beams and velux roof window.
Double Bedroom: With double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables with lamps.

Additional Information

This property may not be suitable for some people because of the number of stairs.

Pets are NOT allowed in this property. All bed linen and fuel are provided (linen is not provided for the cot); towels can be provided at £2pp (please ask at time of booking). This property is excluded from the couple discount offer.
