About the Cockermouth area...

Cockermouth

Set at the confluence of the rivers Cocker and Derwent, this quaint market town dates back to the medieval era. Just eight miles north-west of Keswick, Cockermouth hosts a number galleries, walks and places of interest. The town was also the birth place of poet William Wordsworth. There are so many things to do making it a perfect holiday location.

Folly Cottage is a cosy two bedroom cottage with beautiful views and is located in the quiet village of Lamplugh, located in west Cumbria on the edge of the English Lake District and historically part of Cumberland. Lamplugh is the starting point for a number of walks, and is also on the Coast to Coast cycle route which runs along the roads forming the national park boundary.

Folly Cottage is also located close to the popular market town of Cockermouth; which hosts a number of attractions including the various art galleries, pubs, restaurants as well as Wordsworth House (the birthplace of poet William Wordsworth). The Lake District western lakes of Loweswater, Ennerdale Water, Crummock Water and Buttermere are also a short drive away.

Folly Cottage also benefits from a large back garden complete with outdoor furniture.

Ground Floor

Lounge: The lounge has a real wood burning fireplace and a digital TV.
Kitchen and Dining Room: The kitchen/diner has a dining table that seats four. Adjacent the fully fitted kitchen has a fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave and washing machine. In addition the kitchen is complete with a full inventory of crockery, cutlery, cookware and equipment.

First Floor

Double Bedroom: The main bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, dresser, bedside tables and a mirror.
Bunk Bedroom: The second bedroom has a bunk bed and a small wardrobe/drawer unit.
Bathroom: Family bathroom with toilet, wash basin and shower over the bath.

Additional Information

There is parking for one car outside the cottage, however additional parking is available at the public carpark; which is just a few meters from the cottage.

Please note the stairs to the first floor are steep, therefore not suitable for people with mobility issues. There is a child gate to the top of the stairs.
